🛣️ Welcome to Tripmaster GPS!
Tripmaster GPS is a precision trip-tracking app designed for drivers, rally enthusiasts, and roadbook adventurers. With dual distance counters, real-time speed monitoring, altitude tracking, and GPS signal quality indicators, it turns your iPhone or iPad into a reliable digital tripmaster.
🚗 Getting Started
Using Tripmaster GPS is simple:
- 📍 Allow location access — The app needs GPS permission to track your trip
- 📶 Wait for a good GPS signal — The signal indicator turns green when accuracy is sufficient (below 32 meters)
- ▶️ Tap START — Distance counting begins automatically as you move
- ⏸️ Tap PAUSE — Temporarily stop counting (e.g. during a break)
- 🔄 Use RESET — Reset the global counter, the partial counter, or both
📏 Dual Distance Counters
Tripmaster GPS features two independent odometers for maximum flexibility:
🌍
Global Counter
Tracks your total trip distance from start to finish. Includes its own chronometer and average speed calculation.
📍
Partial Counter
A resettable counter for measuring segments — between waypoints, fuel stops, or roadbook instructions. Also has its own chronometer and average speed.
💡 Tip: Each counter displays distance with 3-decimal precision (e.g. 12.345 km) and shows average speed after 30 seconds of tracking.
🎛️ Controls
| ▶️ START / PAUSE | Begin or suspend distance counting |
| 🔀 REVERSE / FORWARD | Switch to reverse mode to subtract distance (wrong turn recovery), then back to forward |
| 🔄 RESET Global | Reset the global counter alone, or both global + partial together |
| 🔄 RESET Partial | Reset only the partial counter and its chronometer |

👆 Interactive Shortcuts
📏
Double-tap a distance counter
Toggle between imperial (miles/mph/feet) and metric (km/km h/meters) units
📍
Tap coordinates
Switch between DMS (48° 51′ 24″ N) and decimal (48.8566°) coordinate formats
📶 GPS Signal Quality
The app displays a real-time GPS signal strength indicator with 5 levels:
| 🟢 Level 5 | Accuracy < 12 m | Excellent — Usable |
| 🟢 Level 4 | Accuracy 12 – 16 m | Good — Usable |
| 🟢 Level 3 | Accuracy 16 – 32 m | Fair — Usable |
| 🔴 Level 2 | Accuracy 32 – 64 m | Weak — Not usable |
| 🔴 Level 1 | Accuracy > 64 m | Poor — Not usable |
⚠️ Distance is only counted when the GPS signal is usable (level 3 or higher) and your speed exceeds approximately 3.6 km/h (2.2 mph).
📱 Real-time Dashboard
All essential trip information is displayed on a single screen:

❓ Troubleshooting
🔴 “No GPS Signal” alert
This appears when the app cannot get a GPS fix. Make sure you are outdoors or near a window, and that Location Services are enabled in iOS Settings.
🛑 Distance is not increasing
Distance only counts when all these conditions are met:
- ▶️ Counting is active (you pressed START)
- 📶 GPS signal is usable (level 3 or higher — green indicator)
- 🚗 Your speed exceeds ~3.6 km/h (2.2 mph)
🔋 Battery usage
Continuous GPS tracking consumes battery. We recommend plugging in your device during long trips. The “screen always on” feature also contributes to battery usage.
🔒 Privacy Policy
Tripmaster GPS is designed with your privacy in mind. Here is everything you need to know about how the app handles your data.
📊 Data Collection
Tripmaster GPS does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app does not require an internet connection or user account.
📍 Location Data
The app uses your device’s GPS to calculate distance, speed, altitude, and position in real time only. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never stored, recorded, or transmitted. When you close the app or reset the counters, all trip data is gone — there is no history or log.
🚫 No Third-Party Sharing
Tripmaster GPS does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics tools, advertising networks, or third-party SDKs that access your data.
🗑️ Data Deletion
Since no data is stored or persisted, there is nothing to delete. Uninstalling the app removes it completely from your device.
📝 Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this privacy policy, changes will be posted on this page. Since Tripmaster GPS does not collect any data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
